First Aid at Work Courses

Suitable for: Freelancers and small and medium businesses with employees working in a higher risk working environment, such as light engineering, warehouses, food processing, dangerous machinery, heavy plant construction, etc. May also be appropriate for organisations with staff with a known disability or medical condition. There is a greater likelihood of serious injury or illness, and emergency medical help is likely to arrive reasonably quickly.

In the standard 18 hour First Aid at Work course, the core training covers the essential skills needed to preserve life, prevent worsening and promote recovery after injury or illness in the higher risk work environment, until medical help arrives.

Our courses are active and hands-on! Expect to be an active participant, assessing other candidates as if you were a first aider and in turn acting as a casualty for other candidates. Learners should be physically able to participate, although reasonable adjustments are possible as appropriate.

We practically assess your progress throughout this course, helping you achieve the best possible standards as a first aider. Our FAW course also has an exam at the end

On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:

Understand the role of the first-aider, including reference to:
The importance of preventing cross infection;
